Why no one works in the bush anymore....
Dear Prospective Employee,

Imagine if you could work within a family business where you felt involved, appreciated and important. What would it be like to never be treated like just another ringer on a horse, ever again? To never be unsure on what direction the company is heading in, when things need to be done by, where you fit into the business and why your role plays a significant part in its profitability.

And what if finding such employment was easier than you think?

Often the hard part is working in the bush and not feeling like your job offers you this in any way. Whether it within a large pastoral company where you’re just another number or within a business where you’re running around like a headless chicken without any purpose, involvement in decisions or feeling of worth.

For over 25 years Eckford Holdings has been giving employment to many jackaroos and jillaroos, in various roles, which have enjoyed some of their best years working in the bush.

And if you think you bring something special to the table, we’d love to hear from you.

These are some of the ways we make staff feel involved:

1. Weekly operational meetings held every Monday morning
2. Feedback reports on various sections of responsibility including -
Stock Condition, Fence Condition, Lick Consumption Rates, Inventory/Supply Levels, Breakages/Repairs, Water Condition, Grazing Charts, Urgent Matters, Stock Paddock Placements, Mustering Efficiencies, Recommendations & Reasoning
3. Company shirt
4. Campdraft accommodation
5. Shouting Out appreciation box

Ok, so what do we pay our staff?

Normally when you work in the bush as a jackaroo or jillaroo your wage will normally vary between $550 and $750 per week. Plus all your accommodation, meals and working materials are supplied free of charge. But unfortunately more often that not, you don’t feel involved, appreciated or important.

However, we are always looking for quality staff to fill a variety of roles and not only will you be financially rewarded, you will enjoy some of your best years working in the bush.

Why do we offer you this?

The reason why we want our staff to feel involved, appreciated and important, is because in order for our family business to be profitable in today’s environment and continue growing in the future – we need to attract and retain quality staff to do so. If we don’t involve our staff, don’t make them feel responsible and accountable for their own actions, or genuinely care about the well being of our business – we go backwards. We guarantee you – that if you completely involve yourself in our business, you will be financially rewarded, appreciated and feel important.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a family business that offers you job roles that are completely different. Please download the Employment Application Form below and tell us why you'd like to work with us at Eckford Holdings. Until we meet...
